Hisense 55-Inch QLED CanvasTV S7N Series – A Comprehensive Review

If you’re looking for a TV that blends seamlessly into your home while delivering high-quality visuals, the Hisense 55-Inch Class QLED 4K CanvasTV S7N Series is a fantastic option. I recently replaced a 55-inch LCD TV with this model, and it has exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Here’s my full review after hands-on use.

Design and Build

The design is sleek, and the matte screen enhances the overall aesthetic while reducing glare in well-lit rooms. The included frame option looks good, but I found the teak color doesn’t match the darker wood tones in my home. Unfortunately, Hisense doesn’t currently offer additional frame options, which limits customization.

Mounting was straightforward. It works perfectly with my universal wall mount and, while heavier than my previous TV, it feels sturdy and premium.

Picture Quality

The QLED panel delivers excellent picture quality, with vibrant colors and crisp details that elevate movie watching and gaming. The matte display handles reflections well, maintaining a clear image in bright rooms. The 144Hz refresh rate is a standout feature, providing smooth motion for fast-paced action and gaming.

Art Mode

The Art Mode is a game-changer for making your TV a part of your décor. The artwork display looks stunning, especially with the anti-glare screen. However, I noticed that it cycles through all available artworks rather than my favorited selections, which was slightly disappointing. Adjusting the settings may resolve this, but I haven’t yet found an intuitive way to do so.

Another feature that didn’t work as expected was the motion sensor to turn the art mode on and off. It seems to require tweaking in the settings, which isn’t as user-friendly as I’d like.

Remote and Controls

The remote control is one of the best I’ve used. It feels solid, responsive, and premium. Navigating the Google TV interface is smooth and intuitive, with plenty of apps and features to explore.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • High-quality QLED panel with vibrant, realistic visuals.
  • Matte, anti-glare screen works well in bright rooms.
  • 144Hz refresh rate is perfect for gaming and fast-moving content.
  • Art Mode is a stylish addition, with beautiful visuals when not in use as a TV.
  • Sturdy build and mounts easily to universal wall mounts.
  • Excellent price point compared to similar models like the Samsung Frame or TCL Frame TV.

Cons:

  • Limited frame color options – no darker wood tones available.
  • Art Mode cycles through all artworks instead of favorited ones.
  • Motion sensor functionality needs more user-friendly customization.
  • Slightly heavier than comparable TVs.

Overall Impressions

The Hisense 55-Inch CanvasTV S7N Series is a fantastic value for the price, especially when compared to pricier alternatives like the Samsung Frame. It offers excellent picture quality, thoughtful design, and impressive features like Art Mode. While there are minor shortcomings in frame customization and some Art Mode settings, these issues don’t overshadow the TV’s overall performance.

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)

For anyone looking to combine top-tier visuals with a touch of style, this TV is a strong recommendation.
